About the school: Chastang-Fournier K-8 School is nestled within the historical Trinity Gardens Community of Mobile, Alabama.  This community is enriched with local flavor and culture.  In fact, our school was named after a local Trinity Gardens resident, Mrs. Elizabeth S. Chastang.  Mrs. Chastang was a determined educator and community leader.  Mrs. Chastang had worked hard to get a school established in the Trinity Gardens Community. doing so in 1945.

Our Falcon community works hard to accomplish educational goals that our students and their families have set for themselves.  The faculty and staff at Chastang-Fournier K-8 strive to help our students’ reach their academic and career goals.  We provide our students with rigorous and engaging learning opportunities each day.  We also celebrate our students’ accomplishments by hosting celebrations that highlight student success with Accelerated Reader,  positive behavior, and academic milestones.

Our Falcons are encouraged to excel each day they walk through our doors.  We make learning fun for students by having them participate in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science activities while taking part in Project Lead the Way: Gateway.  We also develop our students’ problem-solving skills and help to prepare them for the workforce by having them take part in Flight Works Alabama’s We Build It Better program.

One of the most exciting courses we offer for our students is Technology 101.  In this course students develop their creativity and problem-solving skills by using digital tools to create graphics, music, and explore maker activities.  They also learn how to code robots.

Not only do our Falcons explore engaging academic activities each day, but they also participate in fine arts activities such as band and dance.  Our Acceleration Dance Company and the Falconettes choreograph and perform dance pieces. During the 2021-2022 school year our dancers participated in the Mobile County Public Schools' Honor Dance Showcase.  Our Mighty Falcon Band participates in community parades.  Several of our Mighty Falcon Band members were selected to participate in the 2022 MCPSS Honor Band Competition.

As a community school, our biggest strength is that we foster learning and creativity while also encouraging our students to reflect on their cultural beliefs.  We strive to ensure that our students’ learning experiences are cultural engaging.  Our Falcons work hard to be successful academically as well as socially so that they can be leaders in their communities.

At Chastang-Fournier K-8 School, our middle school Falcons compete across our district in football, basketball, volleyball, and track and field.  Our Falcons have played in the regional playoffs in football and basketball the last several school years.

Our motto is “Every Student Can and Will Succeed at Chastang-Fournier K-8.”

At Chastang-Fournier K-8 School we encourage our faculty and staff members to build strong, authentic relationships with our students as well as each other.  Our administrative team keeps our faculty and staff motivated by hosting events throughout the school year to show our faculty and staff how much we appreciate them.  The Falcon team is encouraged to plan collaboratively across grade levels and/or subject-areas to ensure that we meet the educational needs of our students.  At Chastang-Fournier K-8 School we ensure that our faculty and staff have all the tools and resources needed to help our students be successful.  We participate in school-wide professional development to help us to learn more about ways to continue being innovative educators.

The Falcons are avid believers in the philosophies encouraged by the program Capturing Kids’ Hearts.  We focus on the social-emotional wellbeing of our students and their cultures to build connectedness.  At Chastang-Fournier K-8 School, we are a family.  We work as unit to encourage the success of our students.  We do whatever it takes to ensure our students are well-rounded, cultural-aware beings who will be leaders in our communities.

Our students and parents appreciate how we nurture the educational and social-emotional needs of our students.  They remind us of this by telling us in person as well as commenting on our social media pages.

Chastang-Fournier K-8 School is one of the best kept secrets in Mobile County Public Schools.  Our students and faculty and staff have interesting and remarkable learning experiences every day!  We enjoy preparing our students for their next phases in academia as well as their careers.  #FalconsSoar
