About the school: Our school is special because we believe that all students can be successful if given the right opportunities and tools to be so. We meet our students where they are and help them to reach their next level.
The mission of Collins-Rhodes Elementary School is to create and sustain an environment that promotes academic excellence, encourages social development, fosters emotional well-being and instills a passion for life-long learning.
Collins-Rhodes received "Best School Spirit" in the MCPSS Math Competition. We also won first place in the "Music and Performing Arts" category during the MCPSS Film Festival.
Our biggest strength is that we're family oriented. We view our students, faculty, and staff as members of our own extended families.
Our school philosophy is that we thrive daily to make sure our students succeed. We believe that a child's current environment does not determine his or her future. We believe that all students can and will learn when given the proper support.
In order to help our student reach their full potential, we provide our teachers with professional development to assist in perfecting their crafts. We work as a team and as a family to make sure that our students grow into productive members of society.
Our school is named in honor of Dr. Harold Collins in recognition of his many years of service as Superintendent of the Mobile County Public Schools and Mrs. Edna Bonner Rhodes in recognition of her many years of service as a teacher and Supervisory of Elementary Curriculum.
