About the school: Kate Shepard Elementary strives to become a premier educational campus where students engage in multiple hands-on, innovative, and rigorous learning opportunities. Our strength lies in our ability to foster high expectations through positive relationships.
We are a Nearpod Certified School. Many teachers have Clever, Nearpod, LETRS, and Google Classroom certification.
We expect our teachers and staff to KNOW our students by building positive and encouraging relationships. Our students KNOW that they are learning in a safe and secure environment. Students also KNOW that we have high expectations and they can and will achieve greatness.
We must all show LOVE, kindness, and compassion to others.
We expect all students to GROW. The faculty and staff at Shepard will nurture and cultivate growth in our students academically, socially, and emotionally. There is a scholar in us all.
We are lifelong learners with great potential for lifelong success. KNOW. LOVE. GROW.
Kate Shepard Elementary strives to develop the whole child:
We believe all students will have the opportunity to experience success at each grade level; and we are committed to making this the priority.
We believe all employees are professionals who share the responsibility for the success of our students; and we are committed to recruiting, employing, developing and retaining employees who are effective in achieving our mission.
We believe in a safe, supportive, and equitable environment where all persons are treated with dignity and respect; and we are committed to providing a quality and equitable setting that ensures students and employees reach their potential.
We believe the success of our school and students is dependent upon a team effort that includes teacher, parent, and students; and we are committed to informing and engaging our parents, community and stakeholders through communication, transparency, and accountability.
We believe in on-going professional growth through professional collaboration and development.
We believe in creating a scaffold support system for new employees through mentorship and coaching opportunities.
